The face behind Tiny Vinyl Co., the hands behind the helmet wraps, and the person who never expected decorating baby helmets to become such a big part of her life!

I work at Precision Signs, a small, family-owned sign company in Garner, North Carolina. My dad has been in the sign industry for over 45 years, dating all the way back to when signs were still painted by hand! I've been working in the family business since 2012, designing, printing, and installing just about every kind of sign you can imagine.

But in 2019, something a little different came through our doors.

How It All Started

A local mom reached out to us because she wanted to decorate her baby's DOC Band. She had contacted other sign companies in the area, but nobody was willing to take on the project.

I had years of experience wrapping vehicles, but a tiny, oddly shaped baby helmet? That was a whole new challenge!

Rather than turn her away, I visited our local Cranial Technologies and asked if they'd loan me a helmet to experiment with. And they did!

I spent weeks testing different vinyl materials, adhesives, and installation methods. I'd wrap the helmet, leave it for a few days, see how it held up, remove everything, and start all over again.

Eventually, I found a combination of materials and techniques that worked beautifully. Durable, colorful, removable, and capable of handling the everyday adventures of a baby in a helmet.

Over 1,140 Helmets Later...

What started with one mom asking for help has grown into something I never could have imagined.

I've now personally wrapped over 1,140 cranial helmets!

And every single one has been a reminder of why I started doing this in the first place.

Here in Garner, we continue to offer two completely FREE professional helmet wraps every week for local families. It's our little way of giving back to the community that has supported our family business for so many years.

But I quickly realized there were families all over the country who wanted to decorate their baby's helmets and didn't have anyone nearby who could help.

That's why I created TinyVinylCo.com!

Bringing the Fun to Families Everywhere

I took everything I'd learned from years of professional wrapping and developed products that families could use at home.

Our full helmet wraps are printed on professional-grade vinyl- a specific wrap vinyl created for plastic materials like your helmets- and I've created detailed installation videos to help parents tackle the process themselves.

But I also knew that not every parent wanted to take on a full wrap.

That's where our peel-and-stick decals come in.

They're designed to make decorating a helmet incredibly simple. No Mod Podge, no sealing, no complicated installation. Just peel, stick, and enjoy! They're even compatible with the newer 3D-printed cranial helmets.

Whether you're looking for a full wrap, a few adorable decals, or something completely custom, my goal is to make the process as easy, affordable, and fun as possible.

More Than Just a Business

Here's the thing- Tiny Vinyl Co. was never really about building a big business.

It started because one mom needed help, and I happened to have the skills and equipment to do something about it.

That's still how I look at it today.

Cranial helmets can be expensive, appointments can be overwhelming, and adjusting to helmet therapy isn't always easy for families.

I can't change any of that.

But if I can help turn that little helmet into something that makes a parent smile, I'm happy to do it.

And honestly? Getting to see photos of your adorable babies rocking their new designs is one of my favorite parts of this whole thing.
